Who We Are

About ConnecTeach, Inc.

We begin by connecting with schools in poor communities to identify their needs for professional development. We then invite highly qualified educators to work with us to develop the appropriate instruction modules and to lead workshops on effective teaching practices in these under-served areas.  Our workshops include inquiry-based learning, rubrics and performance based assessments, strategies for differentiated instruction, and creative writing. Our volunteers engage in on-going professional communication to mentor teachers from these schools for a period of up to one year to support and ensure sustainability of these practices.  We also certify these teachers to become teacher trainers themselves. At ConnecTeach, we believe in empowering teachers to provide the best possible education for their students.

Why ConnecTeach Matters
According to a 2009 report by the United Nations and the International Labor Organization, one in five workers in developing countries lives on less than $1.25 a day. One in four children under age five are undernourished, and about 77 million children are out of school, 54% of them girls. Most of these children live in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
The problems are daunting and complex. The solution is simple. A quality education.
